Glen Rock board approves contract corrections, curriculum pilots and HIB actions; discusses calendar and music staffing

On business items, administration said a previously approved architect proposal for the stadium project omitted scope items (track replacement and the press‑box roof). The board rescinded the earlier approval and approved the corrected contract amount for the architect proposal; administration stated the corrected total as $25,004. The board also rejected a set of bids solicited to replace ESS aide services after officials said the responses could create budget pressures and disrupt the existing ESS workforce.
The board handled several personnel and procedural items (P1–P9) and approved the slate as presented, with abstentions recorded where recusal was required. On disciplinary matters, the board affirmed the decision in HIB 02/2276 and, on the acting CSA’s recommendation, voted to rescind GRMS HIB 267,518 (student ID 215270); two members — Miss Calvez and Miss Carusola — recorded abstentions on that roll call. The board also affirmed GRHS HIB 02/5302 after a hearing requested by the parent.
Other business included a report that additional allowance requests tied to preschool construction (demolition, door work and an electrical/swipe‑door modification) would net roughly $30,000 after credits and remain within the project allowance.
The meeting closed after members previewed the Jan. 6 reorganization meeting and discussed the possibility of creating ad hoc committees to examine topics such as finance and religious observance policies.
