The Georgetown County School District Board on Monday approved an administration personnel list and adopted Policy JHCE governing personal electronic communication devices.
The administration recommended approval of the personnel list; a trustee moved and seconded the motion and the board approved it by voice vote: "All in favor, please say aye," the chair called, and the motion carried (SEG 1708–1712).
Later the board considered Policy JHCE (Personal Electronic Communication Devices) for second and final reading. The policy was moved and seconded, trustees discussed implementation and asked for an update on school‑level compliance, and the chair called the voice vote. The policy was adopted (SEG 1713–1778). One trustee asked that implementation status be added to a forthcoming joint leadership agenda so principals can provide updates on rollout and enforcement.
The meeting also included a budget development calendar presentation and a request that principals' individual budget requests be shared with trustees during the planning process.
Before adjourning, trustees offered remarks thanking three outgoing members and welcomed three incoming trustees who will be installed on the board Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned by voice vote.
Votes: Personnel list and Policy JHCE were adopted by voice vote; transcript records the voice outcomes but does not give roll‑call tallies.
