Staff told the committee that Bid 25-0010 for land appraisal services, tied to a federal land reallocation for a school site, produced a single response (about $9,500). Given the federal designation of the properties and appraisal requirements, staff recommended rebidding to create a more competitive procurement process.
Members discussed the requirements for two types of appraisals needed for federal clearance and suggested consulting the relevant state agency (DEM) and master purchase agreements to expand the pool of qualified appraisers. Staff said they would rebid the package and expected results within a couple of weeks.
The chair moved to table the selection and rebid the work; the committee agreed to postpone award to solicit additional proposals.
