School Building Committee gives review group $25,000 authority and approves a slate of ATPs

Motions for each item were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Design staff and contractors explained key items in the discussion. Ted (SLAM) said the compressed-air work was refined with the construction-technology staff to reduce the earlier estimated cost from roughly $16,000 to about $10,000: "we were able to reduce the price down to, $10,000," he said. For the gym-floor salvage, the committee noted that Sarah's Foundation donated funds to cover abatement so the SBC had no net cost.
Most approvals were taken by voice vote; the transcript records committee members saying "aye" and the chair calling the measures passed. Committee members debated the review-group threshold (some argued significant items under the threshold should still be elevated) but reached agreement that the review group would continue to refer items of concern.
