Committee forwards naming request for Green Sea Floyd's High School community room to full board
Summary

Daryl Ricks moved to forward a naming request from the Green Sea Floyd's area advisory board to the full board; James Edwards seconded the motion and the committee approved it by voice vote.
Ricks said the proposal would name the high school community room in memory of Rodney C. McPherson, who served as assistant principal after the schools consolidated in 1976 and later as principal through 1992. Ricks described McPherson as instrumental in the consolidation and an “equal partner” in meeting student needs.
The chair said the naming request followed the proper protocol; the committee voted to introduce the item at the Dec. 8 full-board meeting and to schedule the final vote in January.
