Dana Barrios, a resident who identified her address, used the public-comment period to allege that Parks & Recreation staff provided false information about reserving a pavilion, that a coordinator named Cecilia misrepresented availability and that a supervisor identified as "Miss Sal" did not provide requested documentation. Barrios said she filed an open-records request and that documentation does not support staff explanations.
She told the council that, after she questioned staff inconsistencies, the pavilion electricity was turned off and she had to run power from a neighbor and pay for that use. "The electricity had been on until we asked about it, then it seems it was intentionally turned off," Barrios said. She also alleged inappropriate social-media posts by staff and said the employee handbook suggests misconduct.
Council response: The mayor thanked Barrios for her comment; no immediate staff report or formal directive was recorded on the transcript. Barrios asked for accountability and said she would provide proof of her claims.
Next steps: Barrios said she had submitted an open-records request and encouraged council follow-up. City staff did not provide a public response during the meeting; the council did not take immediate action on the record.
