Planning staff told commissioners they are addressing roughly 11 extractive‑use permit condition violations—mostly setback and state permit issues—among more than 70 active pits. Staff said they will compile comparative data from neighboring counties to better understand violation levels and bring that information back to the commission.
There was no unfinished business. Commissioners welcomed new member Josh to the board; a motion to adjourn passed and the meeting ended.
Staff indicated they will present the comparative violation data in a future meeting and continue enforcement where permits are noncompliant.
