The Clay County Planning Commission held a final public hearing and voted to forward the Clay County Land Development and Subdivision Ordinance to the Clay County Board of Commissioners for enactment.
Planning staff summarized revisions made over a roughly two‑year process, noting conditional approval from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for shoreland sections and attorney and outside‑counsel edits to subdivision and administration chapters. Staff also reported that updated state cannabis rules were published in the state register recently; staff asked commissioners to review the ordinance’s cannabis section one more time before the county board hearing.
Commissioners voted to recommend enactment and to send the ordinance to the county board. Staff will perform final copy edits and formatting; staff said no substantial changes are expected before the board hearing.
