Elizabeth Jones, the city's projects and grants manager, presented the proposal and said the agreement would run 19 months and include contingency money. “The proposed agreement is for a 19 month term and totals $524,518,” Jones said. “This amount includes a $30,000 rebate reserve to address any unforeseen revisions or additional scope needs.”
Councilmember Wood moved to authorize the mayor to sign the agreement; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. No council roll-call vote was recorded in the minutes.
The contract covers an update to the city's general sewer plan and the required reclaimed-water flow analysis, work the city and consultant describe as preparatory for future capital projects. The agreement includes a $30,000 reserve intended to cover possible scope changes or unforeseen revisions during the 19-month engagement.
With the vote, the mayor was authorized to execute the contract and staff will proceed with the consultant agreement and initial work planning. The council did not discuss construction costs, which would come later if the plan leads to capital projects.
Next steps: staff will finalize the contract paperwork and begin the planning work under the Skillings agreement.
