"This is something that has been long awaited and our kids are so excited to take advantage of," the Presenter said, describing student enthusiasm for the expanded programs.
The Presenter said Health Professions students will use revamped tennis courts and a new gymnasium with new hardwood floors and upgraded lighting, which the district expects will allow it to host volleyball and basketball tournaments and accommodate larger spectator capacity. Across the district, officials said, upgraded lights will permit more games and more practice time in evenings.
District officials framed the upgrades as part of a broader effort to expand extracurricular opportunities and provide facilities that support athletic and extracurricular programming. No budget figures, timelines for full use, or outside funding sources were specified in the remarks.
The Presenter described the changes as districtwide, and emphasized the district's commitment to providing students with new opportunities and resources for growth in the coming school year.
