Board approves consent items, 21st Century grant continuation and routine personnel actions

At its July 28 regular meeting, the San Felipe-Del Rio CISD Board of Trustees approved a package of routine and programmatic items in a series of unanimous votes.
The board approved the consent agenda (minutes, donations and several purchase orders) on a single motion. Trustees then appointed Mrs. Webb as delegate and Mr. Almaraz as alternate for the 2025 TASB Delegate Assembly.
Under administration recommendations, the board recognized county 4‑H extension agents as adjunct staff for 2025–26, enabling participating students to be counted present while participating in off‑campus 4‑H educational activities; administration clarified the agents or their organizations provide any compensation.
The board approved new locally approved innovative courses (Path College Career 1–4) at Del Rio Early College High School for 2025–26 and approved staffing changes including conversion of a counselor position to assistant principal at Blended Academy, several retirements/resignations, and a list of new hires presented by HR.
Administration also recommended—and trustees approved—the submittal of a 21st Century Community Learning Centers Cycle 12 Year 3 continuation application in the amount of $1,818,616 for afterschool and summer programming across eligible campuses.
Other personnel and administrative items approved included the 2025–26 appraisal calendar and multiple job descriptions and evaluation forms. Several items discussed in closed session were later reflected in open-session approvals; staff reported no final action resulted directly from executive session discussions.
