The Missisquoi Valley School District #89 board approved several recommended hires and accepted a resignation during the meeting.
Board members approved the slate of hires (classroom teacher candidates including Katie and Erin Meyer among others) with the meeting recording the motion carried 9–0. "All those that they were reporting in the hires, please say aye," the chair said; members responded and the chair declared the motion carried.
The board also announced the resignation of Jennifer Gagne, who is leaving to pursue further schooling; district staff said they have candidates in process to fill the role and that recruitment is ongoing.
On other business, Julie reported she had met with local landowners and signed a letter of agreement to proceed with surveying related to a land transaction in the Town of Shawton; the board indicated that the item will be discussed further in an executive session later in the agenda. Trustees said they would follow up with survey and next-step timeline details through staff.
