At its July meeting the Beaumont ISD board approved routine business and several significant procurement and finance actions.
The consent agenda passed unanimously after a motion by Mr. Dunn and a second by Mr. Reese. Trustees approved budget amendments to reappropriate carryforward purchase orders (general fund $973,214; child nutrition $40,700) and to move funds within special revenue grants that extend through September.
The board approved general‑fund purchases over $50,000 totaling $1,652,043.79. Finance staff itemized renewals and a nonrecurring vehicle purchase: recruiting/hiring software $70,817.99; an annual Microsoft Office subscription of $92,500; renewal of school liability and automobile insurance for $694,173 (covering buses and district vehicles); website hosting; curriculum subscriptions; and a Chevrolet Suburban for $61,401.
Trustees awarded a one‑year lawn maintenance contract to Superior Lawn Maintenance for $852,500 after evaluation by maintenance staff. The motion to award was approved 7‑0.
The board also approved an investment management agreement with METER Public Funds to diversify the district’s liquid assets and seek higher returns; staff said the base fee is expected to be $10,000 and returns will depend on amounts and investment horizons. The motion carried unanimously.
All the votes recorded during the consent and business portion of the meeting were 7‑0; minutes show multiple trustees thanking staff for work on renewals and procurement.
