Findorff updates Jefferson board on referendum construction progress; celebrates fall events

John Winch, project manager with Findorff, told the Jefferson School District Board on Aug. 26 that construction from the 2022 capital referendum is on track across multiple sites.
Winch said Sullivan Elementary—s secure-entry reconfiguration, reception and restroom remodels are complete. At West Elementary he reported restroom renovations, library upgrades and flooring work are finished and staff are moving back into classrooms. At the high school, classroom and food-lab renovations were turned over to staff, with phased shop and skills-lab work continuing through October; new equipment — including a paint booth, CNC router and a dust-collection unit — is being installed and tested.
East Elementary remains the most complex phasing effort; Winch outlined completed first-phase classroom work and roofing and said interior finishes and remaining phased work would continue through the school year and into the next summer. He noted ADA upgrades, new HVAC and fire-protection improvements and described exterior work including a relocated secure main entrance at East.
Winch invited the public to project celebration events Sept. 5 at East, West and Sullivan, and a later celebration at the high school after construction wraps up in October. Board members thanked crews and asked that construction workers be invited to the celebrations so the board can publicly acknowledge their work.
Winch said the projects aim to improve safety, accessibility and learning environments and that remaining tasks include final mechanical, electrical and equipment connections and scheduled finish work through October.
