Personnel: The board accepted resignations from two support staff members (Tanya Nault, seven years; Brenda Schwab, five years) and approved the hire of a new elementary-school counselor and several custodial and salaried staff. A new full-time community resource officer was introduced; administrators said he has extensive local SRO experience and will be visible at sporting events.
Custodial plan and facilities: With renovation and turnover scheduled for early September, administrators described a hybrid model for nightly cleaning: two district-employed second-shift custodians to supervise and spot-check, backed by a reduced contract cleaning service starting Sept. 3. Staff said the change responds to past contractor performance and the district will provide vacuums and supplies in teacher closets and ask staff and students to help maintain classrooms. "We finally got to something," a staff member said, characterizing the model as a long-sought improvement.
Open house and events: Because of construction schedules, the district will postpone a traditional open house and offer a drop-in preparatory day (Sept. 29) so families can set lockers and classrooms; the district is also piloting electronic ticketing for events and will absorb transaction fees to ease the transition.
The meeting concluded with a roll-call vote to move into closed session to consider a staffing matter under Wisconsin statute.
