District administrator: state report cards coming, DOJ safety assessments completed and salary structure work ahead

Dr. Crone, the district administrator, told the board the state report cards will be released next week and that preliminary, embargoed results show progress in student achievement and growth. He said the district will provide a public update on the state report card details on Nov. 19 and described ongoing work to intentionally monitor data and translate assessment practices into classroom instruction.
On school safety, Dr. Crone said the Department of Justice conducted site assessments last week in partnership with the Scott Wisconsin School Safety Coordinators Association. The assessment reports will be finalized and turned over to local law enforcement for signatures; Dr. Crone said the district will align action plans to DOJ recommendations next year, including standard response protocol updates and digital mapping. He said there is a free grant available to obtain digital maps of school facilities for safety planning.
A separate speaker (13) said, with the budget approved, the district will now focus on salary structure planning: the team plans to present options to the Committee of the Whole in December and seeks to advance toward formal approval later in December.
Dr. Crone closed by noting ongoing work on building capital planning and staffing coordination for the next school year and thanked staff for recent engagement and progress.
