The Somerset School Board approved several governance items and then voted to adjourn into closed session for personnel matters.
The board moved to adopt the revision to policy 84-51 (first reading had been completed at a prior work session). A motion to accept the attached revision was made and approved by voice vote.
On the consent agenda, the board approved personnel updates, athletic activities personnel, prior meeting minutes, board bills and donations as presented. The board also approved edits to the high school registration guide for the 2025–26 school year after a motion and second.
Later in the meeting the chair moved to adjourn into closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation and performance-evaluation data of a public employee. The motion was seconded; the board conducted a roll-call vote and entered closed session with affirmative responses recorded.
The superintendent provided brief updates earlier in the meeting, including outreach for parent and student leadership cohorts and the launch of the district's virtual program, which the superintendent said has had some early enrollment interest.
