Board tables Tomorrow River safety plan pending reunification details and ALICE training

During discussion staff noted the plan must include documented reunification locations and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with off-site partners. A staff member said the district had recently established MOUs for an off-campus reunification site and planned ALICE training for next Monday to meet state training expectations.
"We always have it, but we have to have it documented as part of the plan," a staff member said of the ALICE training. Board members asked whether reunification plans should be rehearsed and were told the district is developing a plan and has identified locations and MOU partners.
A motion to table the district safety plan was made and seconded; the board voted by voice and the motion carried. The board also voted to table the charter-school safety plan so staff can address location-specific issues and MOUs for that site.
Next steps: Staff will add the reunification details, complete the ALICE training and return the revised safety plan for board consideration in December.
