La Grange Park board approves stormwater repair contract, backs partnership model for ZIP Code Day

Separately, trustees supported staff’s recommendation to pivot the village’s planned ZIP Code Day on June 5, 2026, from a village-led large concert to a distributed, partnership-led model that emphasizes community participation and minimizes direct village spending. Trustee counsel and Mayde described the village role as convening and promoting partner-led events; trustees unanimously approved a motion to support partnership-based planning.
The meeting also included routine consent items approved unanimously, reports from building & zoning, engineering, police and fire departments, and a village manager update on outreach about a $10 million road-bond referendum that will appear on the March 17 ballot.
The board swore in and pinned two paid‑on‑call firefighters, Veronica Gussie and John Jack Powers, in a brief ceremony before the meeting.
