Tommy Groopman presents That’s A Rat, a new Davie sandwich and wrap shop

Tommy Groopman, a presenter representing the restaurant That’s A Rat, said the business opened on 07/04/2024 and is working to expand its customer base across Davie and neighboring towns. Groopman said the shop has five employees and emphasized daily in-house preparation: "We prepare 99% of the items in house," he said, and added that bread is sourced from a bakery every day to keep ingredients fresh. Groopman outlined community outreach: That’s A Rat has participated in a "breakfast with the mayor," events with the Davie Chamber of Commerce and college events, and plans further community engagements aimed at students and residents on a budget. He described Davie as a supportive environment for small businesses compared with his past experience in New York. "Everybody was helpful," he said.

The presentation included operational details—five staff members, daily bakery bread deliveries, and menu adaptations for dietary preferences—but did not include requests for town action or mention of pending permits or approvals.
