Mayor schedules meeting with residents on Sullivan speed cushions, will invite engineer

Mayor Stuchel asked the Committee of the Whole to schedule a meeting with residents of the 4020 block of Sullivan about speed humps installed there and to consider a more permanent, bicycle-friendly alternative.
Committee members agreed to hold a public improvement committee meeting on Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. to discuss the matter. Members said they would invite an engineer to attend so the meeting could include definitive information and possible sample options. The mayor and committee discussed including residents of Greenlee Avenue, but noted the Greenlee plan is separate and would require the engineer's input because the installations differ.
The meeting was scheduled to provide residents an opportunity to review options and for staff and the engineer to explain technical details. No final action on changes to the traffic-calming devices was taken at the Aug. 14 meeting.
