Auditor Brickway asked the Committee of the Whole on Aug. 14 to prepare an ordinance to add several appropriations that were omitted from earlier budget paperwork. "We've hired a code enforcement officer, but we need to put money in the line item for the code enforcement officer," Brickway said, and listed specific line items and amounts she asked to add.
Brickway asked the council to use MP-14 to cover $30,000 for a code enforcement officer through year-end, $50,000 for computer purchases (2K7), $25,000 for O1PS vent systems and $30,000 for part-time seasonal staffing (O12-O-2BB). She said the items were discussed previously but had not been included in the original ordinance and needed to be codified.
Mr. Morton moved to place the additional-appropriation ordinance on the table for the next council meeting; Mr. Culberson seconded. The committee voted in favor, and the motion carried.
The committee did not adopt the appropriation ordinance on Aug. 14; the motion only advanced the item to the next full council meeting for formal consideration and a potential vote.
