CT of Engage Rocket presented the results of a baseline staff-listening survey administered late September to October, reporting a 68% participation rate (155 staff) with a margin of error of about 4% at a 90% confidence interval. CT said outcome questions — such as whether staff see themselves staying for the next 12 months and whether they feel proud to work in their school — scored above 90% favorably.
CT said discretionary effort measured lower (around 68%) and highlighted three driver areas to address: trust (particularly a 12-percentage-point gap between trust in the immediate team versus trust in the district), cross-team collaboration, and professional-development opportunities. CT described a multiple-regression and scatterplot analysis used to identify items that most strongly move staff-engagement scores, noting that trust and mentorship had high impact.
CT told the board mentorship for new hires and launch-week activities were generally successful: "People who received mentorship felt comfortable seeking help from their mentors regularly." He invited questions and said the detailed open-ended comments would be made available for board review.
Board response in the record: The chair thanked CT for the presentation and there were no substantive questions recorded during the meeting. The presentation was positioned as background for ongoing work the district can use to target retention and professional-growth initiatives.
