Board reviews Rogers Elementary improvement plan; action to follow in November

At a Oct. 15 special meeting the board said it received a comprehensive review of Rogers Elementary's improvement plan during a prior work session, incorporated feedback from the district accountability/accreditation committee, and will take formal action at the regular November meeting.
The Board of Education met in special session Oct. 15 and received an overview of the Rogers Elementary School improvement plan that the board reviewed in full during an earlier work session. The chair said the board had "a lengthy discussion" on the plan and that feedback from the District Accountability Committee and the accreditation committee had been delivered to the Rogers principal and incorporated as appropriate.
Superintendent Gahl said the board had no further additions at that time. "There is not," Superintendent Gahl said when asked if additional information was needed.
The chair told listeners the plan will be presented as an action item at the board's regular meeting in early November and invited community members who listened to the special meeting to review the earlier work session for the comprehensive presentation. The board asked that any further feedback between now and the regular meeting be sent to the superintendent and copied to board members.
No formal vote on the improvement plan occurred at the special meeting; the item was explicitly described as nonaction, with formal consideration scheduled for the November meeting.
