Mayor Stutchell introduced and ceremonially swore in Tim Williams as the interim Director of Public Services and Safety. Williams repeated the oath and briefly thanked the council for the opportunity to serve in the interim.
Treasurer Miss Taranquin reported the Star Ohio account balance at $10,214,418.41 as of February. Tax Administrator Miss Helms said February tax collections were $653,492, up 7% ($42,764) from February 2024 and reminded residents that April 15 is the federal/state/local filing/payment deadline and that returns must include W-2 forms and specified federal pages.
The service department reported $23,807.09 remitted for waste collection in February, 141.3 tons of garbage hauled, 19.8 tons recycled to Rumpke, and 2,720 pounds of scrap metal recycled. The fire and police monthly statistics were presented: the fire department recorded a total of 65 incidents in February with EMS activity and mutual aid details; police reported 660 calls for service, 414 contacts, 21 criminal offenses and 82 arrests (as reported). Community event dates for Clean Up Saint Bernard Day (April 26) and Shred Day (May 24) were announced.
