The Collingswood Board of Education approved the district’s 2025–26 academic calendar, a unified schedule developed in coordination with the Oakland district. Michelle Turner, who served on the calendar committee, said the calendar aligns professional-development days with testing windows and places an early-dismissal half day on the Friday before Memorial Day as a delayed teacher-appreciation gesture.
Turner said the calendar committee sought to minimize disruption for families while giving teachers intentional planning time. She noted the supplemental calendar — which will list standardized testing and delayed-start dates — will be released later in the spring.
The board discussed that the draft contains no built-in snow days; instead, makeup days would be added in June (June 19–22) if closures occur, rather than shortening spring break. Oakland had approved the calendar previously; Collingswood approved it by roll call vote at the meeting.
The district will provide an iCal option so community members can import calendar dates into personal calendars when the district publishes the schedule.
