Brickler said he has served on the CIC board and has seen "nothing but good going on in the town," describing that civic involvement as a basis for his candidacy. He noted community members encouraged him to run, saying, "Few people said, hey, you would make a good candidate as a counselor or councilman."
He outlined additional experience: "Most of my life I've done computer work. I'm also a real estate investor and I spent 8 years in the US Coast Guard," describing those roles as part of his background for public office.
Emphasizing his motivation, Brickler said the campaign "wasn't about the money and being on the council, it's not about the money, it's about helping the city to grow and and keep moving forward on their project they currently got going on." He framed his run as focused on supporting ongoing projects and the village’s future.
