Saint Bernard CIC appoints Kevin Geraci to board, elects Ali Palmer secretary and Chris Schollmeyer treasurer; enters executive session on property sale

The Saint Bernard Community Improvement Corporation unanimously appointed realtor Kevin Geraci to its board and elected Ali Palmer as secretary and Chris Schollmeyer as treasurer at a meeting on Sept. 23, 2025, members said.

Geraci, who identified himself as a long-time local resident and real estate professional, told the board he has “been a realtor licensed in both Ohio and Kentucky for over 20 years” and has led renovation projects and tax-abated developments in the Cincinnati area. He said his family recently moved back to Saint Bernard and that he hoped to “be part of renovating” on a larger scale for the city. After a brief question about prior treasurer experience, Geraci said he had not served as a treasurer but expressed willingness to help where needed.

Board President Stuchel asked for a motion to nominate Geraci; Peggy Brickwig moved and Joe Brickler seconded. The board conducted an up-or-down roll-call vote and recorded affirmatives from members present, and Geraci was seated.

Members then addressed officer vacancies created after previous changes in membership. Jeff Edwards nominated Ali Palmer for secretary; Ray Culbertson seconded the motion. The board voted to elect Palmer, who was recorded as voting yes. Stuchel described the secretary’s duties as preparing and presenting minutes, forwarding records to the village clerk for posting and maintaining accurate meeting records.

For treasurer, Ray Culbertson moved and Peggy Brickwig seconded a motion to appoint Chris Schollmeyer. The motion carried by recorded vote. Following the treasurer vote, members said they would arrange a meeting with outgoing personnel and the new treasurer to set up bank signers at Fifth Third Bank and transfer QuickBooks records; the board noted Bob Culbertson had offered to assist with the transition.

On the agenda was an update on a pending purchase of property at 306 Bank Street. A member said a title exam was received the afternoon of the meeting and that a $500 earnest deposit payable to the CIC is on hand; the board agreed to hold the check and address it on the closing statement.

The board voted to go into executive session to discuss the sale of property (motion by Jeff Edwards; second by Joe Brickler) and later voted to come out of executive session on a motion by Amy Osmali, seconded by Ali Palmer. Members announced on the record that they were out of executive session; no substantive details of the executive-session discussion were disclosed in the open meeting.

The CIC set its next regular meeting for Nov. 25, 2025, unless a special meeting is called, and adjourned.

What’s next: The new treasurer and outgoing personnel are scheduled to meet to update bank signers at Fifth Third Bank and transfer records; the status of the 306 Bank Street closing will be revisited at a future meeting.
