Chris, who leads community education, briefed the board on program participation, facilities use and a grant for early-childhood play space.
Chris said the summer catalog was published the week of Aug. 1 and the summer program logged 824 registrations with 500 unique participants; the full fiscal year (July–June) showed 2,029 registrations with 875 unique users. ‘We had a total of 824 registrations with 500 people unique,’ Chris said.
He acknowledged gaps in rental and participation data tracked by the district’s LEO system and said staff will work with help-desk support to improve reporting. Chris also described efforts to pilot a Google Doc-based public calendar for open-gym schedules and said the team is exploring a point-of-sale (POS) system and a mobile front desk to streamline payments and membership management.
On early childhood, Chris said the district received a grant from the Community Foundation toward a playground and that an additional grant application is due in September. He plans to convene a fundraising committee this month to identify partners and events to complete the project funding.
Chris also described preschool operations and the pause/wraparound care calendar: the preschool will treat four 2-hour late starts as screening dates and maintain wraparound care opening at 10:15 on planned late-start days to accommodate families and staff professional development.
