Saint Bernard CIC moves to end developer contract, will seek new options for shopping-center parcel

The Saint Bernard Community Improvement Corporation voted to terminate its contract with Cintas Development and said it will seek alternative redevelopment options for the shopping-center parcel.

A motion to cancel the purchase/ development contract was made by the Treasurer and seconded by the President. The motion was approved in a roll-call-style voice vote after board members responded in the affirmative when polled by name.

“While while we regret that the purchase contract had to be terminated, and we regret that the partnership did not pan out as as everybody hoped, we are very excited to focus on the future of the shopping center parcel,” the Committee member said, laying out the board's official statement and next steps. The Committee member said the CIC's priority remains “delivery of a high quality community aligned redevelopment for the village” and that staff will begin exploring other options beginning next month.

The motion to terminate was introduced during the agenda item on the status of the contract. The Treasurer moved to cancel or terminate the contract; the President seconded.
