Some board members pushed to reduce professional-development days or extend the school year into the final week of June; others said contract limits and holiday schedules constrained options.
On the roll call the calendar passed; one board member voted no, citing concern that 180 student days is insufficient. The board also approved related curriculum items, including a field trip and hiring an auxiliary nurse.
