Dorchester District 2 board highlights student awards, readies schools for Aug. 6 opening and approves personnel and enrollment recommendations

The Dorchester District 2 Board met July 28 and opened by approving the consent agenda and meeting minutes, then spent much of the evening recognizing students and reviewing readiness for the 2025—26 school year.
Dr. Emily Duplantis of the district CTE program led the board in honoring students who completed apprenticeships and national competitions. "Dorchester District 2 and the CTE department proudly recognizes Valerie Acosta," Duplantis said, noting Acosta completed a Trident Technical College youth apprenticeship that included more than 1,000 paid work hours and 25 college credits. Duplantis also highlighted HOSA competitors who placed at the international conference and several Ashley Ridge FFA teams that earned state-level placements.
