Levittown board certifies school and library budgets and accepts election results

The same staff member read the totals for the board election: James Moran 1,192; Mary Ann Adrian 1,207; Steven Belmonte 823. The two highest vote-getters were James Moran and Mary Ann Adrian.
Board member Mrs. Marenghi then read a resolution, "Be it resolved that the Levittown Board of Education does hereby certify the results of proposition number 1, school district budget vote; proposition number 2, the library budget vote; and board members elections for the Levittown Union Free School District and the Levittown Library," that recited the totals and the election date. James Moran moved to accept the certification and Christina Lang seconded; the board voted 6-0 to adopt the certification resolution.
During the meeting the board thanked Vanessa, identified in meeting remarks as the district clerk, for administering the election paperwork and for her first-year service. The board also congratulated newly elected and re-elected members and thanked the Levittown community for their turnout and support.
The certification completes the board's formal action on the May 21 votes; the board then adjourned. The district will implement the approved budgets as provided in its fiscal procedures and with any necessary administrative steps to allocate funds to schools and programs.
