Dexter High honored for 164 blood donations; Red Cross presents plaques

Jerry Abaguro, the Red Cross account manager who has worked with Dexter for years, described Dexter as "the only town in the United States that ran a blood drive" repeatedly and praised the community's long-term support during crises.
Board members invited school administrators and student representatives to the front for photos as the district accepted the recognition. The board recessed briefly for a group picture before continuing its agenda.
The recognition emphasized community engagement and the district's role as a collection hub for regional emergency needs; presenters noted that one pint of blood can save three lives and that continued drives help local and national response efforts.
No formal action was required; the presentation was ceremonial and concluded with plaques and photographs.
