Grandview Heights holds required IDEA Part B spending hearing; no public commenters

Superintendent Andy led the district's annual public hearing required for IDEA Part B spending and described how the district plans to use federal special-education funds for the 2024–25 school year. He told the board that the district's spending plan will be entered into the meeting minutes and that the public may submit comments by speaking at a future board meeting or by emailing Andy or Rob Brown.

The hearing covered grant lines including Title I support for elementary reading instruction and Title II‑A funding for class-size reduction; Andy also said Larson Middle School and Grandview Heights High School would have special-education intervention specialists funded through the plan. "The public is given the opportunity to provide input on how the district intends to use these funds," Andy said, adding that the district will accept written input by email.

There were no public comments during the hearing. The superintendent apologized for an earlier verbal error about the year in his presentation and reassured the board that a copy of the district spending plan will be included in the minutes. Andy directed anyone who wanted to provide input to sign up to speak at a board meeting or send an email to him or to Rob Brown.

Next steps: the spending plan will be filed in the meeting minutes and the district will accept and review any written input submitted by parents, guardians or members of the public.
