Fairfield Union board approves resignations, leaves and personnel items

At its Monday meeting the Fairfield Union Local School District board approved the consent agenda and several personnel actions, including an employee resignation, supplemental contracts, volunteer appointments and medical leaves.
The board approved the resignation of bus driver Roxanne Drake, effective Nov. 6. Trustees also approved a request to allow Laurie Williams to provide home instruction for a student through the end of the first semester for medical reasons, and they approved a supplemental contract for Amanda Barr to continue as middle-school yearbook advisor (group 8, step 7).
The board confirmed a slate of athletic and extracurricular volunteers (Andrea Williams, Jackie Guile, Mark Edgar and others) and approved an unpaid medical leave for Melanie Baker covering approximately Dec. 13'Dec. 31, 2024. An additional agenda item added earlier in the meeting granted 30 days of unpaid medical leave for employee Peggy Elder; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
Minutes and financial consent items were also approved earlier in the meeting; the October financial and insurance recaps were presented with high-level notes: the October financials still reflect the May forecast and the district reported flat health-claims through October.
Each personnel motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice or roll-call as recorded in the meeting transcript.
