Chair Bolton summarized the RFP (20205406) and the recommended award; the packet recommended the highest-scoring proposer. An AMR representative summarized materials previously provided, noting the staff had supplied response-time breakdowns for municipalities (Dunwoody and Brookhaven) and separate 2024/2025 response-time components.
Commissioner Ted Terry, who said he toured AMR's Tucker facility, praised the vendor's capacity investments and expressed optimism that the contract, combined with penalties and subsidies in the agreement, could improve response times. County staff said vehicles were purchased (12 ambulances) and that operating capacity averages 6 to 8 ambulances per 12-hour shift depending on staffing. The committee discussed subsidy calculation, vehicle counts and how the vendor would scale to future population growth.
A motion to approve the contract was made and the committee voted in favor.

County staff will finalize contract execution with the awarded vendor, monitor response-time commitments and track staffing and asset deployment under the agreement.
