PACCAR donates $80,000 to district robotics program; district honors longtime deputy superintendent

Superintendent Kelly Aramaki announced that PACCAR, working through the Bellevue Schools Foundation, has offered $80,000 to support the district’s Steamnasium robotics facility. Robotics team member Ankush, the team captain, described the Steamnasium as instrumental to teams’ practice and success and said the funds will help sustain the facility and programming.
Separately, the board and community paid tribute to Eva Collins, who is retiring after 33 years with the district. Collins recounted her career—beginning as an elementary principal—and shared personal reflections, family stories and gratitude for colleagues and students. PTSA representatives presented Collins with an outstanding-educator award and students offered a fused-glass keepsake.
What's next: PACCAR’s donation will support Steamnasium operations; district staff and the Bellevue Schools Foundation will coordinate photo opportunities and acknowledgment. Collins’ retirement will be marked in upcoming events and formal recognition from the district.
