Euless council approves consent agenda, ADA update, CDBG project and youth-camp ordinance

On the consent agenda the council approved purchases and administrative items including authorization to buy duty pistols and accessories from Sentinel Supply LLC (Houston) through the Omnia Partners cooperative, a resolution amending early voting dates for the May 2, 2026 general election for mayor and council seats, the city’s proposed FY2026–27 budget calendar (including related district and development corporation budgets), adjustments to August 2026 meeting dates, an application to the Office of the Governor for a Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant for digital forensic equipment (City designated the police chief and finance director as authorized officials), and approval of the minutes of the Jan. 27, 2026 meeting. The consent agenda was moved, seconded and passed without recorded opposition.
Council also approved an updated Americans with Disabilities Act transition plan presented by Risk Manager Connie Scott. The update, which staff said reflected 2025 revisions, assigns dates to upcoming accessibility projects and clarifies completed curb, ramp and other ADA work on detailed lists and maps. Councilmember Bynum moved approval and the motion passed unanimously.
During a public hearing, Interim Director Major Jones presented recommended project selections for the Community Development Block Grant program (an entitlement city allocation administered through Tarrant County). Staff estimated the city’s CDBG allocation at about $300,000 and recommended a wastewater-line project totaling roughly 880 linear feet in two neighborhood project areas; no public opposition appeared and the council approved the recommended project selection.
The council also approved first-and-final reading of ordinance No. 2446 renewing the City of Euless youth program standards of care, which exempts some city-run camp activities from day-care licensing as allowed by the Texas Legislature and updates staff job descriptions for those programs.
