The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center presented a new website, promotional videos and a targeted digital marketing campaign aimed at raising awareness of its programs and rental facilities, and reported early results for a rural IT apprenticeship initiative.
Hannah Hiala, the Center’s senior director of events and operations, introduced Megan Hoeven Haver as the Center’s new marketing and public relations coordinator and invited Corporate Image representatives to demonstrate the website’s features: a homepage hero video, partner institution pages, program landing pages, an events feed and opt‑in functionality.
"From that home page, we believe they can easily find it and then navigate there easily," Ray Barnes of Corporate Image said while showing the live site. The presentation emphasized brand consistency, interactive elements and streamlined backend tools for staff to maintain content.
Corporate Image also summarized digital outreach for a rural IT apprenticeship program launched on social media. The firm reported about 2,000 total ad clicks at the one‑month mark and about 400 people who interacted with the landing page; James Blevins (quoted by the presenters) reported seven solid leads from the campaign.
Executive Director David Matlock added that the Center had already received applications from prospective apprentices: "We've already gotten 5 apprentices, I believe, complete application[s] and apprentices just from the October views," he said.
Presenters showed short videos highlighting facility rentals and individualized student stories intended for use on social media and the site’s program pages. The Center plans to continue the marketing run and monitor leads and applications as the campaign continues.
