Facilities staff report progress on HVAC, roofing and courtyard projects

Facilities staff told the committee on March 10 that HVAC work is the primary capital focus this year, with many units scheduled to begin installation around spring break and most projects expected to finish over the summer. Jeff said design work is underway for ceiling and lighting replacements and safety/vestibule upgrades, and those items will require OSF approval before bidding.
Windsor Hill and Nashville were described as being under design for roofing, and Bowes Middle School has an issued purchase order for a full courtyard renovation including drainage and new seating. Staff noted these referendum-funded projects represent the bulk of current capital activity and said scheduling and budgets are in good shape so far.
Staff also reported coordination with Dominion Energy for Oak Brook Elementary to relocate overhead primary power lines underground as part of an addition project, with work expected during spring break. Several schematic designs (Summerville, Ashford Ridge) are being prepared for upload to the OSF portal; staff cautioned pricing at this early stage contains many assumptions and may change.
Committee members asked for continued updates on schedule, budget and any vendor responsiveness issues (for example camera and access-control service), and staff agreed to bring additional detail to future meetings.
