Following the special hearing, the Bellefontaine City Council reconvened for its regular meeting and moved through administrative reports and a full legislative agenda.
On first reading the council authorized the service-safety director and police chief to enter a memorandum of understanding with the Maccagee Learning Center for a seasonal school resource officer; the motion passed a roll-call first reading. Missus Bickner reported two items on second reading: a supplemental appropriations ordinance for multiple departments totaling approximately $600,338 and a curb-and-sidewalk contract estimated at $315,000 to be paid from American Rescue Plan Act funds; council approved both on second reading.
On third reading the council adopted an ordinance to seek proposals and enter into a contract for the City wastewater treatment plant repaving project (estimated $155,000) and also adopted an ordinance to demolish city-owned property at 114 North Detroit (approx. $46,000). Roll-call votes for the third-reading measures were recorded and carried with affirmative votes by council members present.
The meeting concluded with a clerk communication about a local nonprofit’s anniversary open house and a motion to adjourn.
