Over time the licensing model shifted to journeyperson and master electrician pathways; DLI staff said roughly 5,500 master electricians are currently licensed in the state and that the Class A installer category has effectively phased out.
Committee members said the repeal reduces confusion and cleans up obsolete statutory language. Representative Grama asked that the bill be sent to the general register; the motion passed by voice vote.
