At its Nov. 21 meeting the Marlington Local School District board approved the following motions (all passed on roll call as recorded in the meeting):
- Five-year forecast: Motion to approve the five-year forecast as presented — approved unanimously.
- Transfer of pipeline proceeds: Motion to transfer $686,307.26 (first-half pipeline settlement proceeds) from the general fund to the capital projects fund — approved unanimously. Treasurer estimated the second-half payment may be roughly $987,000 before fees.
- High-school roof contract: Motion to approve a combined contract for Phase 3 and Phase 4 to complete the high-school roof (Exhibit D), quoted at about $2.6 million for the combined phases; board approved.
- Emergency gas-line repair: Motion to approve a contract with TNN Excavating to repair a gas line (Exhibit C) at $127,662 — approved as an urgent repair.
- Out-of-state student trip: Motion to approve the boys basketball out-of-state field trip (Exhibit B) — approved.
- Minutes and financial reports: Motion to approve the Oct. 17 minutes and the October financial reports (ending cash totals and fund balances read into the record) — approved.
- Donations: Motion to accept donations for November, including $5,000 from Alliance Elk Charities for students facing homelessness and other smaller donations — approved.
- Personnel consent: Motion to approve a consent personnel package (one certified retirement; classified hires; substitute and supplemental hires) — approved.
Each item was moved, seconded and carried on roll call. Where possible the administration provided exhibit references and documentation; the forecast and related documents were posted to the district website for public access.
