The Delano Public School District board unanimously approved its consent agenda and a resolution accepting donations from multiple organizations during its regular meeting.
Board Chair called the consent agenda and a motion to approve was "Moved by Gerke" and seconded by Baker; the board voted by roll call with board members Deppa, Black, Roser, Moraiella, Gerke, Schoest and Baker each saying “Aye.” The chair announced the motion carried.
The board also read and approved a resolution to accept gifts. The resolution listed donors and amounts, including Zaylor Photography ($1,000) to Delano Elementary School; DES Pie ($8,250 for teacher and classroom supplies; $5,000 for the elementary toner account); Friends for a Cause ($4,000 for kindness funds); Dance Booster Club ($5,602.30 and $21,636.89 for dance team expense reimbursement); Drama Booster Club ($592.25); Core Trust Bank ($2.50 for archery); Initiative Foundation ($1,000 for ECFE); and Minnesota Oktoberfest ($1,000 for Orange Crush Robotics team #3026). Chair noted appreciation for the donors and said, “we appreciate all of their donations to the Delano Public School District.”
On personnel matters the board recognized the upcoming retirement of Joe Finn, a technology teacher with more than 20 years of service, and approved the personnel items in one motion. The chair thanked Finn for his contributions to students and the district.
The meeting adjourned after routine board reports and no new substantive business.
