Representatives of the Long Prairie Hockey Association, including coach David Wright, asked the Todd County Board for permission to rent two locker rooms (rooms 3 and 4), an additional locker room and a small storage closet under the stairs for equipment, signage and concession items.
Wright said storing skates and concession equipment in those rooms would protect items now kept in totes and semi trailers. Commissioners and fair/expo stakeholders discussed a history of mold in the rooms, prior remediation paid in part by the hockey association, and the need to ensure the rooms are suitable and insured for storage. County staff and board members emphasized checking with the Fair Board and extension staff and directed the county coordinator to have the county attorney re‑review lease language and to verify insurance coverage before finalizing an arrangement.
The board indicated general support pending confirmation of insurance and coordination with other building users; staff were asked to add terms to county rental policy and to report back.
