Councilmembers expressed support for waivers as a good-faith effort for property owners who said they were not properly notified. "I will support this waiver request because I think so many of the property owners did not even know anything about the dredging," one councilmember said. A motion to approve the waiver/acceleration request carried by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will finalize and release an RFQ for engineering consultants and bring proposed consultant selection and district-formation details to the January meeting.
