Board approves plat to accept donated tract and dedicate 0.2104 acres of right-of-way

The Rio Rancho Planning & Zoning Board voted to approve a preliminary/final plat that creates a small parcel for donation and dedicates 0.2104 acres of right-of-way to the city.
Planner Liz Reyes Carlos presented the plat for property addressed at 1280 15th Street Southeast, explaining the existing tract totals 84.0811 acres and is zoned OS (open space). "Staff recommends approval of the preliminary final plat case number 20Five-twoHundred-fifteen, subject to the following findings of facts and conditions," Reyes Carlos said. The proposal splits the tract and dedicates 0.2104 acres of right-of-way to the city to improve the public roadway system.
Thomas Patrick, an agent with Community Sciences Corporation representing the donating entity (identified in the transcript as SCAFKA), told the board that the tract is being donated to the city per a statement of donation and that staff comments have been addressed. "The purpose of this plat is to create this small tract so that it can in fact be donated to the city and dedicated as right of way," Patrick said.
A motion to approve item number 3 was made and seconded and the board voted on the motion; the roll call recorded affirmative responses and the motion passed. Staff noted the plat would be signed and recorded to complete the dedication.
The approval authorizes staff to proceed with the findings, conditions and the documentation necessary to complete the property transfer and right-of-way dedication. The case was described verbally in the meeting record; minutes and the signed plat will be the official record for the dedication details.
