Citizens Advisory Committee will bring rewritten zoning-code chapters to Planning Commission starting in August

Assistant Town Manager Ruth Mayday told the Planning Commission on July 15 that the Citizens Advisory Committee has rewritten multiple chapters of the town's zoning code. Mayday said staff will begin bringing revised chapters to the commission in August and that commissioners will receive both redline and clean copies in their next packet.
Mayday described the scope as several chapters rewritten and later clarified there are 12 chapters to be reviewed. She said the commission's role will be to review the rewritten chapters in regular meetings prior to the formal public hearing stage; following commission review, the Planning Commission will make recommendations to the Town Council, which will have final approval authority.
Mayday warned the commission the packet will be sizable and suggested commissioners review materials in advance to allow substantive discussion during meetings rather than at the formal public hearing. The commission indicated the schedule will likely span multiple regular meetings (August, September and October) to complete the review.
