Ida DeBlanc will continue as chair of the Clarkdale Planning Commission, and Joseph Conk was chosen as the commission's vice chair, the body announced Wednesday during its regular meeting.
DeBlanc was nominated to keep the chairmanship by Commissioner Carol and said she was willing to serve, noting one of the most important duties of the role is regular attendance. The commission voted in favor of the nomination; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
Commissioners also approved draft minutes for April 15, 2025 and June 17, 2025 without changes earlier in the meeting. The chair then opened the commission's new-business agenda.
The vice chair nomination was moved and seconded on the record; Joseph Conk accepted the nomination and Chair DeBlanc announced him as the new vice chair. The commission voiced unanimous assent.
The leadership choices are procedural and do not carry a budget impact. Chair DeBlanc emphasized attendance and continuity in overseeing upcoming items, including a substantial zoning-code review the Citizens Advisory Committee will deliver to the commission starting in August.
